When a body is fit, it can handle the everyday stresses of life and helps maintain both physical and mental health. Healthy body benefits extend to mood elevation and greater mental alertness, as well as reduced chronic disease risk. Physical exercise has an important role in keeping the body fit. It is impossible to have a fit body without performing a regular physical exercise.

These are things you can do to keep your body and help to maintain your both physical and mental health:

1. Drink more water

Over 60% of our body is made up of water. Water is needed to remove waste, carry out body functions and carry nutrients and also oxygen around our body. Drinking more water helps us in losing weight. Dieters have been drinking lots of water as a weight loss strategy. The amount of water we need depends on our age, weight and physical activity.

2. Sleep enough

Studies show that the gap between getting just enough sleep and getting poor sleep may affect our health. Getting a good night's sleep will give us immunity from disease. Poor sleep can make us fat, make us have risks of heart disease and stroke. 6-hour sleep duration is recommended for adults.

3. Exercise

Exercise is not about pushing ourselves to get pain but for health and fun, we do it. We need variation in our exercise so that it becomes more interesting instead of suffering. Popular sports include basketball, football, swimming and the other sports will be good options.

4. Eat fruits and vegetables

Fruits and vegetables are important for good health with many important vitamins and minerals. Fruits or vegetables with bright colors are usually high in antioxidants. They remove free radicals that damage our cells.

5. Shorten food processing

Most nutritional value is lost in the creation of food, for example: adding a high amount of salt which leads us to higher blood pressure and heart disease. Fresh and short processed food is better. It is better to eat less and in line with your energy needs.

6. Don’t drink alcohol and smoke

Alcohol is proven to have negative effects on our body and health. It impacts the proper functioning of our brain, liver, lungs, etc. Meanwhile, smoking increases the risk of lung cancer, kidney cancer, heart attack, etc.

7. Go with healthy and good people

It is about spending time with healthy people. Good people will always support us and put us away from getting stressed. They are fun to be with, optimistic and always exude a confident and an encouraging vibe. Most importantly, they will advise us when we go through a difficult challenge in our life. So we can always have positive thinking and stress as known as one of the causes of the disease will be away from our life.
